Couples Therapy

To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.
— David Viscott

Why Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy?

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is considered the gold standard for couples therapy due to its high success rate and rigorous research backing. Based on attachment theory, EFT helps couples understand and change negative interaction cycles by focusing on emotional connection, fostering secure attachment, and improving communication. Through this process, partners learn how to access and express their vulnerable emotions, fostering greater empathy, trust, and intimacy.

If you're ready to improve communication and create a resilient partnership, EFT often provides couples the experience of feeling more understood, valued, and loved.

Book Foreward-Focus: A 4 Session Relationship Assessment

This four-session assessment combines attachment theory and the Gottman Method to help you understand your relationship’s strengths and challenges. Throughout the process, you’ll complete rating scales and engage in interviews that reveal your relationship dynamics and personal histories, paving the way for deeper understanding and growth.

  • Session 1: We’ll explore your relationship story, family histories, and current dynamics through an open interview. This helps identify key strengths and areas for development.

  • Sessions 2 & 3: I will meet with each partner individually to delve deeper into personal perspectives, feelings, experiences, and family of origin, allowing each of you to share more fully in a safe space.

  • Session 4: We will come back together as a couple to review the assessment findings, highlighting your relationship’s strengths and growth opportunities. You’ll leave with personalized insights, practical strategies, and a clearer understanding of how you communicate, manage conflicts, and connect emotionally.

This process provides actionable tools to strengthen your bond, improve communication, and build a resilient, loving partnership.
